Nicola Gets Married

Those of you who travelled with us to Italy will remember Nicola who was on the organising group and also on the previous Core Team for the Augustinian Youth Ministry. On Saturday 20th of June Nicola will marry David. Nicola has worked for many years now trying to communicate the Augustinian experience to others - on behalf of you all I wish her every happiness and God's blessing as she enters married life.

What is happening around the country?

I would like to wish some of our members all the best as they move on.
Some have decided that they no longer wish to be involved with our Youth Ministry at this time - good luck and God bless you as you seek what is right for you. Augustine spent a long number of years searching for what was right for him - this is what all Augustinians try to do during their whole lives - this spirit of being brave enough to search; to leave old certainties and seek out new meaning is fundamental to human happiness.
Some others have found themselves forced to move for reasons of work/ study - these are interested in finding other Augustinian groups in the places they are going to and I will try to help them in that search
Whatever path we choose in the future it is important that we acknowledge that we have walked an important path together so let us continue to pray for one another.
Anyone who moves on is always welcome to move back - Augustinians operate a revolving door policy and are proud of it !!!

Suggestions for Getting Involved

Remember - if you wish to express your faith or your commitment to your parish or local Augustinian Community the world is your oyster.
Don't forget to make the most of your creativity and whatever talents you feel you have or would like to explore.
If you would like to get involved contact your local Prior or Parish Priest and talk to him about it - you may well find that a new idea will be welcomed.
What follows is a list of some of the activities you might be interested in (in no particular order)
Reading in the Church
Folk Choir
Collecting
Welcoming people arriving for Mass
Help is always needed for all sorts of things when special occasions arise (Christmas, Easter, Novenas, Triduua...)
What about trying something new - Use your talents with ART, DANCE, CRAFTS, ORGANISING, PUBLICISING etc.
Help is often needed with IT difficulties - updating the website, helping with the newsletter, doing a mail merge - not to mention improving this blog (please)

Prayer in Time of Recession

In this time of recession,we remember all those who have financialproblems and are finding life difficult.
We hold before You, O Lord,all those who are fearful for their jobs,all those who are desperately looking for work and all those who have become depressed and have given up looking.
May Your Holy Spirit come among us to heal the tensionsof this time and calm the many fears.
And with Christ by our side,make us aware of each other's troubles so that we may reach out our hands with His friendship and give unstintinglyof His love.AMEN

God of endless love,ever caring, ever strong,always present, always just:You gave your only Sonto save us by the blood of his cross.
Gentle Jesus, shepherd of peace,
join to your own suffering the pain of all who have been hurt in body, mind, and spiritby those who betrayed the trust placed in them.
Hear our cries as we agonize over the harm done to our brothers and sisters.
Breathe wisdom into our prayers,soothe restless hearts with hope,steady shaken spirits with faith:
Show us the way to justice and wholeness,enlightened by truth and enfolded in your mercy
Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts,heal your people's wounds and transform our brokenness.
