AYE 2010 - International Youth Encounter

At the end of July I took part in the meeting of the International Youth Commission of the Order together with the Local Preparatory Group in the UK as another step towards preparing the International Youth Meeting which will take place in London next August. The meeting will be known as AYE 2010 (Augustinian Youth Encounter), its theme will be "I CALL YOU FRIENDS" and it is hoped that around 350-400 young people from all around the Augustinian world will participate. Normally, at these meetingS, between 15 and 18 different nationalities are represented.

These meetings are held every three years and are a very important opportunity to do a number of things;

1: To look at your faith in the company of young people from around the world

2: To pray together

3: To learn together

4: To have fun together

Next year's meeting will be hosted by the Anglo-Scottish province and will take place from August 9th to 15th, 2010.

We hope to bring a group of about 50 from Ireland so places are likely to be sought after. If you think you will be free and interested in going let me know as soon as you can. The cost per participant will be approximately 500 euro but there is time to organise some fundraising so let's get our skates on!!!

The website for the meeting so you can follow all the developments is http://www.aye10.org/

Pictured below are those who participated in the recent meeting in London (I am taking the photograph so you will have to imagine me)
